Article: Conscious creation of our beauty tools

Conscious creation of our beauty tools

At INBLUEM, our mission has always been to create products that not only enhance your wellbeing but also our planet, ensuring that our actions today create a positive impact for generations to come. At our very core, in alignment with our mission to rewild the beauty industry, we champion transparent sourcing—ensuring that every ingredient we utilise is responsibly and ethically sourced. From seed to skin our plant potions use native botanical ingredients that makes creation close to home, but our extensive research has led us to understand that certain offerings, like our beauty tools, require specialised materials or manufacturing processes that are consciously crafted to the highest standard, or not yet readily available in Australia. This has meant that our beauty tools are consciously crafted in China, rooted in the ancient wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine.
We meticulously vet our global suppliers to ensure they align with our core values of transparency, sustainability, and ethical practices, seeking environmental and OH&S certifications to ensure the wellbeing of both people and our planet. Our body brush, for instance, is crafted from lotus wood and agave sisal bristles—materials selected for their superior sustainability and role in ecological regeneration. Lotus wood is known for its rapid growth cycle, which makes it an environmentally responsible choice, as it can be harvested without leading to deforestation. Additionally, the agave sisal bristles are derived from a plant that thrives in arid environments and requires minimal water to grow, contributing to conservation efforts in water-scarce regions. By choosing these materials, we support regenerative agricultural practices that promote biodiversity and long-term ecological balance.
Similarly, our Konjac sponge is a testament to our commitment to sourcing materials that work in harmony with nature. The sponge is made from the root of the Konjac plant, native to Yunnan province in southwest China, and is cultivated in optimal growing environments that naturally conserve water. The Konjac plant not only requires little water but also contributes to soil health, making it an ideal crop for regenerative farming. This focus on regenerative and sympathetic agriculture means that the production of our Konjac sponge has a minimal environmental footprint while offering your skin a gentle, natural cleanse and exfoliation.
We consciously selected Bian Stone for our Gua Sha, instead of crystals like rose quartz or jade because of our deep commitment to a transparent supply chain. The extraction of crystals has often raised serious ethical concerns, involving exploitative labour practices, child labour, and unsafe working conditions. The crystal supply chain's lack of transparency makes it challenging to ensure truly ethical practices. This is why we worked with Bian Stone, a mineral-rich rock formed millions of years ago when a meteorite landed in Shandong, China. We’ve worked with our conscious supplier in China to ensure transparency throughout the creation of our Gua Shas.
We are always looking to improve and evolve our sourcing practices. While we currently source our beauty tools from China due to the quality and ethical standards we require, we are open to exploring local suppliers in Australia if they become available and meet our stringent criteria. Our goal is to continue to offer you the highest quality products while staying true to our commitment to ethical sourcing.
As we continue our journey to rewild the beauty industry, our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices remains unwavering. At INBLUEM, we understand that creating products with integrity requires not only careful selection of materials but also a dedication to ensuring that every step of our process upholds the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. To be INBLUEM is not only embracing a nourishing Self Love ritual—it’s joining us in our mission to make a positive impact for generations to come. Together, we can create a more sustainable and fair world, one thoughtful choice at a time.
