Earth Day ~ 3 simple ways to love, respect and protect our planet today
INBLUEM was born with intention help to heal our people and the planet. In every bottle lies a commitment to self-love and true sustainability which is why everyday for us this Earth Day; however, it is important that today we join the global conversation to shine a light on our climate crisis and the environmental problems our planet is facing. At INBLUEM, our concept is simple - earth love is self love, so in honour of our beautiful planet, here are three very simple things you can do today to love, respect and protect mother nature.
STEP 1 ~ FILL YOUR CUP
Filling your own cup before pouring into anyone else's ensures that you’ve taken care of your own physical, mental and emotional health. Once you place value in yourself, you have more space to value mother nature and this beautiful planet we have the pleasure of dancing around. Take care of yourself today by going outside and soaking up the suns rays. The sun helps balance your circadian rhythm, hormones and melatonin; this helps with balancing your mood, sleep and energy levels.
STEP 2 ~ KEEP IT SIMPLE/NATURAL
The climate catastrophe may seem overwhelming however, it is the small steps we take every day that leads to significant change. A simple way to start today is by swapping out your toxic cleaning products for an easy DIY natural alternative. Here is a simple recipe we use to to make our multipurpose cleaner for our home.
1 part vinegar
1 part water
3 tbsp of baking soda
A dash of pure/potent essential oil
(Clove oil is amazing and safe for removing toxic mould in your home)
STEP 3 ~ LEAD WITH YOUR VALUES
Supporting brands that prioritise people and the planet is a simple way to ensure your purchases remain in alignment with your values. We have prepared a few questions for you to ask yourself when making your next investment towards yourself.
1 - ZERO CARBON
How do they offset their emissions?
2 - ZERO WASTE
How much waste do they produce?
3 - LIFELONG VALUE
How long will this serve you?
EARTH LOVE IS SELF LOVE
Our modern world has encouraged us to become increasingly disconnected from nature. We are one with our environment, something we are so inextricably connected to. Removing value from our planet through pollution and unethical practices means we allow value to remove from ourselves. Our dear friend and First Nation’s people and planet enthusiast Nini Barker summarises this sentiment perfectly in this piece
of visual poetry.
