Article: Woman of the wild

Woman of the wild

Deeply passionate about guiding women back to their innate wildness, Marley Thorpe, is the ‘Woman of the Wild’, and host to empowering women’s re-wilding retreats held in the Northern Rivers, NSW. Marley started dancing at the age of 4, and fell in love with movement and expression. Even at such a young age, she was aware of the depth of this practice. Later in life she found the healing practice of yoga, which has allowed her to create an even deeper mind-body connection while expanding her spirituality.

WHERE DID WOMAN OF THE WILD COME FROM?

“Woman of the wild” was birthed when Marley was living on the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. Over those 3 years, she lived a life that connected her back to her wildness. She felt free, connected and deeply in tune with the rhythms of the earth and began to truly remember who she was and what she came here to do. From that point forward she knew she had to share this with women all over the world.

“I have a deep yearning to inspire others, to create a space of expression free from judgment and allow them to connect with Their deepest, most authentic selves.”

Woman of the Wild’ is a journey through yoga, embodied movement, meditation and expression; for all those wanting to express their innate wildness. You will have the opportunity to reconnect with your own flow, to explore your own movement. Marley’s re-wilding retreats take place over 3 nights in the beautiful Northern Rivers of NSW, where you take place in a wild embodiment journey which includes cacao ceremonies, yoga, sound healing, hula-hooping, daily journaling, meditation, Thai massage and ecstatic dance.

Next retreat: 30th June ~ 3rd July.

“You are invited to dive deep, to use movement as medicine, and move from your deepest self. This is your journey to connect, heal and transform. This is your time to be wild...”

“Self love is deeply listening to what I need in each moment - movement or stillness, connection or solitude. Self love is learning to hold myself through the hard moments with tenderness and allowing emotions to flow through me.

Self love is dancing from a place of non judgment and singing from deep within. Self love is softening when the world wants me to harden; immersing myself in nature and receiving the wisdom I may have forgotten. Self love is a constant practice of coming back home to myself and honouring all that I am…”
